Where new pedagogies, educational technology and classroom research come together

What the Hub does

The Hub is where Faculty staff and students prototype new ways of teaching before they reach a real classroom. We trial educational technology, develop and evaluate teaching approaches, and run workshops for students on practicum and for serving teachers.

Nothing leaves the Hub on the strength of a demonstration. Every tool and method is trialled in a partner school, evaluated with the teachers who used it, and then revised, released or dropped.

How a project moves through the Hub

Propose

A teacher, a student or a research team brings a problem worth prototyping against. Proposals open twice a year.

Prototype

A small team builds the smallest thing that could work, usually within six to eight weeks.

Trial in a school

The prototype goes into two or three partner classrooms for a term, with the teachers involved from the first lesson.

Evaluate and share

Findings are written up and published openly, and the tool is released, revised or retired on the evidence.

Work with the Hub

Schools, NGOs and companies can propose a project or host a classroom trial. Faculty staff and students can book Hub space, equipment and support.
